Roy Hawthorne

Roy is a Real Estate professional with 30 years of vast and varied experience. He started in commercial real estate, representing developers in the acquisition of large retail and residential sites during Chicago’s real estate boom in the 1990s.

He opened his residential real estate agency in 1997 and was one of Chicago’s preeminent brokers for the next 15 years, with over $300 million in sales. Since then, he’s continued to work in brokerage and built another company that develops and rehabs single-family homes and condo buildings. In a 2019 article, the Chicago Tribune described Roy as a “serial real estate investor” because his experience is so unique and expansive.

Roy fell in love with the Upstate Region of South Carolina in 2022 and is building a home in the Cliffs.
