Carrie’s passion for the mountains and her deep appreciation for the Vail Valley are a driving force in her life. She grew up near the Sequoia National Forest, where her connection to nature began, and spent her summers in Alaska, where she and her family hand-built a log cabin. Summers were filled with adventurous activities like hiking in the Chugach Range, whitewater canoeing, fishing, ice climbing on glaciers and exploring the state with her family. These experiences instilled in her a profound love for the great outdoors and a deep respect for the beauty of nature.

After pursuing her education at UC Santa Barbara, Carrie made her way to the San Francisco Bay Area where she flourished with a successful 20+ year career in sales and business development working for Global Media/VNU Business Publications, Miller Freeman, Ziff Davis, Brightstreet, Allrecipes.com and numerous other start-up companies. During a trip to Colorado in 1998, Carrie fell in love with the Centennial State and she packed up her apartment in San Francisco and moved to Colorado.
