Singer-songwriter Anthony Kiedis of Red Hot Chili Peppers fame has let go of some ground in Hawaii, selling his home along the North Shore of Kauai for $8.25 million.

The nearly 3,000-square-foot contemporary house came up for sale over the summer for $9.975 million before catching an offer roughly a month later, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

Built in 2008, the house is located around a 10-minute drive from Hanalei’s central business district. The single-story house has a low-profile roof-line and vertical board siding that is appropriate for the neighborhood. In contrast to this, the house’s interior spaces are elevated from the ground and supported by Craftsman-style tapered columns.

More than 2,900 square feet of designer-done living space includes a white-walled great room with wide plank walnut flooring, a center-island kitchen and a large media room. The dining nook is filled with natural light thanks to a chandelier and three windows. A large outdoor dining area extends the living space outdoors.

Three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms include a primary suite set to one side of the house for privacy. The expansive suite features its own lanai, a soaking tub and a steam shower. Tile decorations create visual interest above the tub.

On the top floor are two additional en-suite bedrooms and a cinema room that may be transformed into an additional bedroom. A child’s room is outfitted with built-in bunk beds and a desk.

The house is located within a ten-minute drive from downtown Hanalei. Surfing, hiking, scuba diving and dining are all nearby.

In 2012, Kiedis was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame together with his RHCP bandmates. The group’s studio albums include Stadium Arcadium and Californication, the latter of which has reportedly sold over 15 million copies worldwide. According to reports, they are currently recording their forthcoming 12th studio album and plan to embark on a massive stadium tour in 2022.
