New York, New York (June 23, 2022): Forbes Global Properties, a curated consumer marketplace of luxury homes and an invitation-only membership network of independently owned real estate firms, has appointed Andy Nelson of Willis Allen Real Estate as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors.

In this newly established role, Nelson will provide strategic guidance to Forbes Global Properties, which was established in 2020 by industry veterans Bonnie Stone Sellers and Jeff Hyland. Nelson will take on this additional responsibility at the personal request of Hyland, who passed away in February.

“I am honored to serve as the Vice Chair for Forbes Global Properties and support the development of our growing network,” said Nelson. “Forbes Global Properties empowers independently owned real estate firms to market their luxury properties through Forbes and across the world, while strengthening their local brands.”

Andy Nelson is the President and owner of Willis Allen Real Estate, the largest independently operated real estate company in Southern California and the exclusive member of Forbes Global Properties in the San Diego region. A graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Nelson began his real estate career in 1974 after a commitment as a Naval Flight Officer and joined Willis Allen Real Estate in 1977. He was named President of the firm in 1980, and in 1995, Nelson purchased all remaining shares in the company from Willis Allen. Today, the 108-year-old firm combines a cutting-edge marketing program with a proud legacy of customer service. The firm’s more than 200 agents serve residential clients from six strategically located offices while holding an industry ranking for the best sales volume per agent.

“Andy is an innovative and highly respected leader in the industry and in our network,” said Bonnie Stone Sellers, Co-Founder and Chair of Forbes Global Properties. “We are very fortunate to have him serve in this capacity, and I look forward to working with him to support the continued success of our Forbes Global Properties.”
