The freestanding design of the fireplace divides the space creating a study and library complete with a rolling library ladder. The dining room is also just off the foyer and features a stone accent wall with three art display nooks. The ceiling is narrowly vaulted with clerestory windows that cast the space in a warm glow.

The great room design opens to the spacious kitchen where a huge island topped with live edge Bianco Antico Granite with an antiqued finish is the perfect gathering spot. A combination of dark-stained and creamy painted custom cabinetry lines the walls. A narrow ceiling vault with clerestory windows, similar to the dining room, coupled with wide windows over the Shaws farmhouse sink provide abundant natural light. Appliances include a side-by-side cabinet front SubZero refrigerator, double Wolf wall ovens, a Wolf drawer microwave, two Asko dishwashers, a Wolf warming drawer and a 48-inch Wolf cooktop with six burners and a French top. The large walk-in pantry features a Miele coffee station.

Outside, the landscaping done by JW Landscape Group won an individual award for the fantastic waterfall and pond. Completely private and filled with the sound of falling water, this backyard is an oasis with a covered patio featuring a built-in Wolf grill, a SubZero refrigerator and a sink surrounded by soapstone counters. Lush grass lawn and concrete steps lead to a second patio space off the family room that features a wood-burning fireplace, ideally designed for entertaining and relaxing with the perfect combination of covered and uncovered space allowing for year-round use. Additionally, McCollum and his family enlisted Portland Edible Gardens to create custom, handcrafted raised garden beds complete with an irrigation system, which provided a bounty of veggies and beautiful wildflowers enhancing the backyard ambiance.

The entrance to the impressive primary suite is located off the living room providing privacy and separation from the rest of the house. The luxurious bedroom features vaulted ceilings and built-ins made from reclaimed wood flanking a gas fireplace. French doors frame a view of the lush backyard landscape and lead outside to a private covered patio. The ensuite bath is the best combination of spa and boutique with heated floors and a beautiful Victoria + Albert luxury soaking tub. The ceiling-height tile accent wall behind the tub divides the space for the walk-through shower featuring multiple shower heads. The wide vanity and storage island are topped with New St. Laurent marble. Custom-built boutique-style cabinetry lines the walls creating a luxurious closet space within the bath.

The opposite end of the house features an inviting family room with a wet bar with a sink, a SubZero beverage fridge, a SubZero ice maker, a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher and a bar with seating. This fantastic entertaining space also overlooks the glass-walled wine room. Bordered by 11-foot glass walls, this temperature-controlled, fully lockable wine room stores and showcases a substantial wine collection and includes a rolling, iron library ladder to reach every vintage. This wing also includes three bedrooms, two with ensuite baths and a third more secluded guest room with its own backyard patio. The spacious laundry room is located nearby as is a server closet that houses the house-wide Savant home automation system that controls energy management, lighting, security and entertainment. A mudroom with storage and a drop zone leads from the four-car oversized garage. Above the garage are a spacious home gym and a finished storage space.
