Chalet Charlix—Luxury Ski-In Ski-Out Chalet Just Minutes from Gstaad and Saanen
Saanen, Bern, Switzerland
Built in 1607 in the shelter of the Chalberhöni Valley on the Gstaad ski area by a Catholic notable from Saanen who was fleeing persecution by the Reformed Church, this remarkable traditional chalet is unique. Its four centuries of existence are fully expressed through the multiple patinas of the woods that compose it.
Completely restored in 1994 and 2003, this jewel has been renovated with taste and modernity by a renowned decorator, while preserving its original character. With its 650 m2 of living space and its 2,240 m2 of land, it is one of the oldest chalets in Switzerland.
This idyllic location, close to the centres of Saanen and Gstaad, offers you a peaceful retreat surrounded by an impressive panorama.
On the ground floor, you can enjoy two reception rooms with fireplaces, as well as a large dining room, a video lounge and a cosy kitchen, with its 55 m2 natural stone terrace facing south. A ski room, a bedroom with bathroom for the household staff and plenty of storage space complete this level.
On the upper floor, the sleeping area consists of seven bedrooms, including a large suite, and five bathrooms. The master bedroom is exceptionally large and enjoys stunning mountain views. A vast living room adds to the already generous spaces, an ideal distribution to allow different generations to meet without disturbing each other, and to come together without getting in each other’s way.
Several cellars, including a wine cellar, are located on the lower ground floor.
This rare object will appeal as much to sportsmen, who will be able to enjoy the slopes in ski-in-ski-out, as to contemplatives who will recharge their batteries in complete privacy.
