Ancient Farmhouse renovated in Southernmost point in Italy

In the Val di Noto a few steps from the sea, unobtainable property with 20,000 square meters of Mediterranean garden punctuated by dry stone walls and populated by prickly pears, carob and olive trees that make up the scenery in which the property is inserted from the renovation of buildings of rural origin.

The villa stands in a very quiet location, surrounded by Pachino tomato crops. A 180-degree view of the sea. The lime plaster that covers the walls respects the local tradition and gives the house the warm and natural shades of the earth, defining the character of an architecture in perfect harmony with the nature that surrounds it; the wide concrete plateau through sharp lines, linear or inclined, defines its perspective features.

The outdoor area dedicated to conviviality and relaxation features a bamboo pergola where one can pause to wander with one’s gaze to the sea.
The large pool made of concrete-partly above ground-is placed in the center of a lawn and is reminiscent of the ā€œgebbie,ā€ traditional Sicilian water collection tanks. Next to it is positioned an iron pergola with a bamboo cover where one can stand in the shade and enjoy the breeze on hot days.

In a structure adjacent to the main body of the house, surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation, a charming open-air bathroom gives feelings of extreme freedom.

The interiors, essential and defined by large volumes, are enhanced by the use on the walls of dark, dense and textured plasters with ochre and red accents that smell of spices. The sun enters the rooms through laser carvings of doors and windows made of corten steel plates: light, shadows and colors become architecture.
The heart of the house is the large living room, a convivial place that dialogues with the large kitchen and opens to the garden through a large window. The furnishings are minimal and pure. The seating and carpet in neutral, soft and reassuring colors invite domestic calm. In the sleeping area 3 large bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. Through an aesthetically striking staircase leads to the attic level , where there is a comfortable space.
