Now, SSF will be expanding into general brokerage services with a team led by longtime local broker Doug Labor.

Doug Labor, who will lead the Steamboat Springs Slifer team, has been a broker for more than 40 years. He started his real estate career in Summit County in 1982, working in project sales. He then moved to executive-level positions at Copper Mountain (Colo.), Hidden Valley Resort (Penn.), Whitefish Mountain (Mont.), and Steamboat Springs (Colo.). In 2000, he left Steamboat Resort, opened his own office in Steamboat Springs, and operated it for 15 years before merging with Steamboat Sotheby’s International Realty, where he was General Manager until he decided to partner with SSF. He has been twice voted ‘Realtor of the Year’ by his peers, was voted ‘Best of the Boat Broker’ by the Steamboat community on two occasions, and has served two terms as president of the Steamboat Springs Board of Realtors. He currently serves on the newly formed Altitude MLS Board of Directors and is on CAR’s Professional Standards committee.

Labor has already begun growing his team at Slifer. He brings with him three brokers he has worked with in Steamboat Springs for several years – Brooke Crofts, Linda Cullen, and Courtney Wiedel. Two existing Slifer brokers are excitedly making the move from other markets, including Broby Leeds from Slifer Vail and Dorian Bailey from Slifer Cherry Creek. The Steamboat office will also include the two brokers for The Amble – Joe Cashen and Michael O’Donnell. With this move to Slifer Smith & Frampton, Labor’s office just off Main Street in downtown Steamboat Springs will be reflagged and be the main SSF office in Steamboat in addition to the existing on-site sales office at The Amble. Steamboat Springs will be an extension of Slifer’s Summit County market, with Chris Lankhorst serving as its market president and Labor serving as the Steamboat Branch Broker.
