Joining Slifer Smith & Frampton Roaring Fork Valley as a commercial broker, Mike Mercatoris says the company really functions as a team, has a strong vision and is motivated. Originally from Meadville, PA, Mike launched his career in the Roaring Fork Valley, going straight into the restaurant business. My Uncle owned the Mountain Dragon restaurant in Snowmass Village, and he invited me out to work with him after I graduated from college. More than 25 years later, Mike has owned and operated award-winning restaurants including Zheng Asian Bistro, GRIND and the Riviera Supper Club. He has also owned a hospitality business as well as a consulting firm. An experienced commercial real estate broker with keen business acumen, he guides clients in commercial sales and leasing, development, and entrepreneurial expansion. I get excited about sharing with people new to the area the fact that it’s not just Aspen. Within 40 minutes you have Snowmass, Basalt, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs. Each of these towns has its own culture, personality and values. Mike is very familiar with the business climate and has personally negotiated, renegotiated and signed 23 business leases of his own. He is also well connected with funding sources. Mike lives in El Jebel with wife Liz, daughter Maddie, and son George. He says they do everything together, including Crossfit, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, skiing, camping, biking and anything else they can fit in.
