Matt Richard

Matt Richard was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. He had visited Austin a handful of times in college, and knew it was the place he’d eventually call home. That move happened in 2015, and he can’t imagine living anywhere else. What was it about Austin? The food, live music, and stand-up comedy scenes, to name just a few. Of course, the ever-expanding skyline, hill country views and long list of outdoor activities are up there, as well.

Matt has always had a passion for people; the stories shared, the relationships you build, and simply connecting with others. His career started in the service industry and eventually led to sales. He is coming directly from working with one of the most recognizable luxury brands in the world, Jaguar Land Rover. His adaptability, ability to listen, and attention to detail are all part of how Matt makes the entire process a memorable one. A lifelong fascination with architecture and interior design, real estate was always in the back of Matt’s mind. In 2019, he finally decided to take the leap when the perfect opportunity came along: joining Moreland Properties and supporting Wade Giles’ rapidly expanding practice as a buyer’s agent.

Matt lives an active lifestyle and fully takes advantage of Austin’s great weather and the opportunity to be outside year-round – he’s even run the Austin marathon. When he’s not outside, Matt loves to cook and spend as much time as possible in his favorite room of any home, the kitchen.
