Anne and Laura have been working together as the Emmett Homes team since2009. Anne is a well-known and respected Bethesda based agent with over 30 years of experience. Laura previously worked as a political appointee and employment attorney before joining Anne selling real estate. This mother daughter team enjoys the camaraderie of working together and, in turn, treats every client like a part of the family.
Anne’s first priority is helping her clients reach their real estate goals with a high level of integrity and professionalism. With her depth of experience, Anne is able to identify issues before they arise, ensuring that the home buying and selling process goes as smoothly as possible. Her marketing and negotiating skills, coupled with her respected position in the real estate community, help sellers achieve their highest possible price in any given market. Furthermore, her expertise and experience help her successfully find homes that meet a buyer’s checklist or that present rich possibilities not always evident to an untrained eye.
A former teacher, Anne graduated from Trinity College and has a Masters degree from Stanford University. Anne and her husband, Bob, raised their four children, Jennifer, Laura, Bobby and Andrew, in Bethesda’s popular Edgemoor neighborhood. Having lived in the area for over 30 years, Anne enjoys her strong ties to the community and is active with the Edgemoor Citizen’s Association. She is also a past President of the Sidwell Friends Parents Association and a current member of graduated parents committee.
As a Bethesda native and Sidwell Friends graduate, Laura brings in depth knowledge of the Washington Metropolitan area and positive energy to the buying and selling process. Laura received her BA from the University of Michigan and her JD from Georgetown University Law Center. With her attorney training, she is extremely ethical and detail oriented.
Prior to pursuing her career in real estate, Laura practiced employment law for seven years in downtown Washington at the firm of Dow Lohnes, PLLC. While in law school, Laura worked for the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education. Prior to law school, Laura worked at the White House as a policy assistant for the Domestic Policy Council under President Clinton.
Laura lived in Georgetown for fourteen years. She currently resides with her husband Francis O’Connor, daughter Lilly, son Patrick, Dylan the dog, and Max the cat in Bethesda’s Sumner neighborhood. She is a member of the Wood Acres Parents Teachers Association Executive Board and a former member of the Westmoreland Children’s Center Executive Board.
