Originally from Terre Haute, IN, John has a comprehensive background in leadership, sales, and marketing. Partnering with his wife, Stacy Liljeberg, who has been a respected and successful Realtor® with the Siesta Key office for over twenty years, John and Stacy have been residents of the Sarasota/Bradenton area since 1983. His love for Sarasota and the knowledge that he developed on its sunny shores over the past 35+ years make him the perfect guide as he introduces the many benefits of living in our beautiful area.
John is the retired President and Managing Partner of Specified Architectural Systems, Inc. His position required interacting with architects, structural engineers, and general contractors in the design, specification, and installation of commercial skylights. As president, he was responsible for managing the office personnel as well as being responsible for sales and negotiating contracts with general contractors. Under his leadership, Specified Architectural Systems was considered one of the skylight manufacturer’s best distributors – consistently one of the top distributors in the United States in annual sales volume.
Prior to relocating to Sarasota, John was the Sales Manager of Rockford Products of Rockford, IL. The combined experience of his management position and contract negotiating skills make him an asset to buyers and sellers. Beyond these technical skills, throughout his career John has been known for honesty, good work ethics, and dedication to clients. He received a B.S. in Marketing from Indiana University.
John’s interests include tennis, boating, kayaking, bicycling, and riding his Harley. He also enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with their two cats, Jake and Oscar. He and Stacy are avid Tampa Bay Rays fans and long-term season ticket holders. He has a son, Robert, who resides with his family in Handan, China.
