BACKGROUND:
A native of New England, George permanently moved to Vail in 1974. As a full-time landscape painter, he founded and chaired the art department of the Vail Mountain School. He joined Rod Slifer at Slifer and Company on Bridge Street in the spring of 1979 and has remained a full-time broker ever since, with a good overall knowledge of the general real estate market and a specialization of the upper Vail Valley.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:
George has served on a number of boards and committees, including the Vail Design Review Board (Chairman), Planning and Environmental Commission, Art in Public Place and director of Holy Cross Energy, the electric utility company serving the Vail and Aspen areas.

PERSONAL:
George is married and lives in Vail with his wife Lizette. Their son, Colin is a Doctor at Portland Maine Medical as a child psychiatrist having graduated from the Vail Mountain School, Bowdoin College and George Washington Medical School. He has a young daughter, Nola. Their younger son, Carder also graduated from the Vail Mountain School and then the University of San Diego and received a MBA from Johnson and Wales University. Following working in Denver with the East West Partners development team of their now sold out Union Station tower – the Coloradan, he has moved to Park City, Utah with his wife Carsyn and is Director of Finance for East West Partners new residential townhome project.
