ANN MARIE JACKSON is the award-winning author of The Broken Hummingbirdāa novel set in beautiful San Miguel de Allendeāand a writer for Mexico News Daily.
Jackson is deeply involved in the San Miguel community. She is the co-founder of Mano Amiga, a microlending NGO that helps women lift themselves out of poverty by launching or expanding their own small businesses, as well as a longstanding board member of Casita Linda, which builds homes for families living in extreme poverty. Ann Marie is also a San Miguel Writersā Conference & Literary Festival advisory board member.
Early in her career, after earning degrees from Stanford and Harvard, Ann Marie joined the U.S. Department of State to promote human rights in China and other East Asian and Pacific Island nations. She has worked with Human Rights Watch, A Better Chance, and Internews to further social justice causes and advance respect for human rights.
Ann Marie fell in love with San Miguel in 1999, moved permanently in 2012, and raised her two sons here. Ann Marie deeply enjoys sharing her love for Mexico and her passion for architecture and design with her clients. She is a discerning guide to San Miguelās real estate market.
